Satopanth Glacier
Satopanth is a Glacier which is situated in Uttarakhand state of India at Indo-Tibet Border. Satopanth word is made with two Sanskrit words Sat-o means 'The Truth' and Panth means 'The Path or Way' which literally means "The Path or Way of Truth". Satopanth Glacier is one of the most popular glaciers found in Uttarakhand. The Alaknanda river also originates from here, which makes it spiritual and special too.
Satopanth Lake
Satopanth Lake is a religious lake situated at an elevation of 4402 meters (14,500 fts.) above the sea level. The lake is as beautiful as a shining star, because of its crystal-clear water. The surroundings of the lake give it a charismatic view which is going to take your breath away. To visit Satopanth Tal you will have to get permit from the forest department of Joshimath.
The Snow-covered mountain peaks and the clear sky tells a different story. Satopanth Lake is in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand, India. Satopanth Lake is triangle in shape, all three corners are dedicated to Tridev Brahma, Vishnu & Mahesh.
It has its own importance in terms of spirituality. Here locals do bone immersion of their loved ones and it is believed that after this process their soul will rest in peace and will get free from the endless cycle of transmigration into a state of bliss (मोक्ष).The lake is also known as 'the lake of Divinity'
